Itinerary

Day 0 Arrival in Tanzania

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International airport in Tanzania, meet and greet then transfer to Moshi town for an overnight stay, check in a hotel and our safari expert will brief you on different aspects of your safari then overnight at Chanya lodge or similar on a Bed and Breakfast basis depending on arrival time, in case of early arrival we can arrange different
meal plan.

Day 1Moshi to Mkomazi national park

Today after an early breakfast depart around 7am from your hotel in Moshi town heading to Mkomazi national park passing through small towns on the way before reaching the park entry gate, arrive at the park after 2 to 3 hours the park gives you opportunity to see the rear species of wild dogs and its also very possible here to spot the rear species of a small population of eastern black rhinos that has been reintroduced into Mkomazi National Park on Tanzania’s northern border. More than 450 bird species have been recorded here and the park is really rich for many animal species including elephants, giraffes, crocodiles and many more animals to be spotted here.

Day 2Full day in Moshi town visiting Materuni village & Waterfalls

Visit the evergreen cultural village of Materuni and hike to the beautiful waterfalls for about 45minutes to an hour before heading back to the village for a village tour including some key lesson on how they produce their organic Arabica coffees along the slopes of the magnificent Kilimanjaro Mountain. In this
delightful village its people still live their authentic life. You get the chance to taste and eat the real local Tanzanian dishes at local mamas’ places in the village before heading back to the Moshi town and transfer to the outskirts of Tarangire national park for an overnight stay ready for a game drive the next day.

Day 3 Full day game drive in Tarangire national park

Early morning after breakfast your driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Tarangire outskirts and you will head off to Tarangire National Park, which is known for its huge baobab trees and large herds of elephants. Its sparse vegetation makes it a beautiful and special location, where up to 300 elephants can be found, looking for underground streams in the dry riverbeds at it best visiting time during the dry season between July to October. Migratory wildebeest, zebra and buffalo can also be seen crowding the shrinking lagoons. Here you will enjoy both morning and an afternoon game drive after having your picnic lunch within the park at Matete picnic site or similar. Then transfer in the evening to Karatu highlands for your overnight stay and rest until next day’s schedules.

Day 4Lake Eyasi to Serengeti national park

Today Early morning around 0630hrs before breakfast we head off and meet the Hadzabe tribes where they will take you for a hunt and learn about hunting techniques also meet with the Datoga tribe before coming back to the Tindiga Lodge for breakfast and shower if necessary then proceed on safari to Serengeti national park on our safari vehicles passing through the beautiful farm lands of Karatu and the Ngorongoro highlands to the Serengeti national park with our picnic lunch boxes, game drive en route “The Central Serengeti offers superb game viewing all year round due to its abundance of resident animals. Specifically, the Seronera River Valley in the Central Serengeti is a ‘must see’ on every safari regardless of the specific month of travel. Game viewing in Central Serengeti is at its best during the dry season (June November) as resident animals are more concentrated in the immediate area due to the lack of water on the plains. Resident herbivores include impala, buffalo, hippo, warthog, topi, hartebeest, and giraffe. Resident carnivores include lion and leopard”.

Days 5, to 6The Serengeti (two full days)

Now you get two full days to experience the Serengeti. Known to host one of most amazing wildlife spectacles on earth the great migration of wildebeest and zebra the Serengeti’s vast plains are also home to a haven of other wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, and many other predators. Two overnight stays in Serengeti National Park. This park is Suitable all yearround with some specific months suitable for specific activities like in December to July to follow the wildebeest migration (either Ndutu or Mara River Crossing), June to October to see predators.

Day 7Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater

Early morning game drives en route depart Serengeti national park to Ngorongoro Conservation area. We will drive in the direction of the Ngorongoro Crater via Maasai Boma in Ngorongoro. As soon as you have reached the edge of the crater rim, the crater appears half a mile below, inviting you to gaze at this jaw dropping natural wonders. “Often called the eighth natural wonder of the world, the Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater in the world. About 2 million years ago the Ngorongoro volcano erupted, and its walls collapsed. The volcano floor sank to create a natural enclosure with its 600m tall walls. Now, at over 19 kilometers wide, Ngorongoro Crater is filled with great areas of acacia forest, hippo filled swamps and open grasslands. These different habitats contain over 30,000 animals including elephants, warthogs, flamingoes, magnificent birdlife, the rare black rhinoceros and all the predatory cats. The Maasai can also be seen grazing their cattle alongside the buffalo and wildebeest”. Today you will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife. Afterwards, you will proceed to the lodge for evening leisure and hot dinner in Mto wa mbu area.

Day 8Full day walking or Biking excursion at Mto wa mbu village

The bustling farming community of Mto wa Mbu, located between Manyara and Ngorongoro, is home to around 18,000 people. Spend half a day here with a knowledgeable local
guide and you’ll discover a side of Tanzania that many visitors miss. After breakfast at the campsite Local guides will pick you ready for a village walking tour, your guide is very
likely to be from the village itself so you will have a unique opportunity to see the community through his eyes. Tours last around 23 hours, but are very flexible. During your
visit you’ll get a good feel for the social side of the village, you’ll likely start your tour at the rice plantations where you will get insights of how they grow them and you will be
passed through different places and end at Local mama lunch places where you will have hot local lunch prepared there by them then your driver guide will pick you from there or
a point after finishing the local tour back to Arusha or airport
